Katlakalns 5rd International Folk festival RUDENĀJI-2019, Latvia at September 13-15, 2019.

Participants RUDENĀJI-2019 - RĀMUPE (Katlakalns, Latvia), GRODI (Rīga, Latvia), SKAŅAVA (Rīga, Latvia), KRAUKLĒNIEŠI (Cesvaine, Latvia), SENLEJA (Sigulda, Latvia), GRAUDI (Tome, Latvia), GARATAKA (Rīga, Latvia),  Ethnographic ensembl OTAŅĶI (Otaņķi, Latvia), ŠKILBANU SĪVAS, KANNELKOND (Tallinn, Estonia), MEGUVA (Palanga, Lithuania), VARGIN (Minsk, Belorus), Charu Castle Foundation dance group (India).

RUDENĀJI is folk festival, for the 5rd time gathering folk groups from Latvia and abroad. The folk groups from Estonia, Lithuania, Russia, Belorussia, Germany, Turkey, Norway, Finland and Latvia were guests in festivals in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017. The leaders of folk organizations are the honourable guests of the festival.

The festival missions is to cultivate the autumn traditions and learn harvest rituals. The songs of autumn habits (authentic singing or reproduction), rituals, the use of national music instruments, and dancing (ethnographical dances without stylization) shall be included in the performances of the groups participating.

Festival takes place in Ķekavas municipality and in neighbourhood. Events of the festival will happen in different places – concert halls, cultural centres and courts as well as in open air stages and by the special objects – mounds and ethnographicals museums.

Festival „Rudenāji – 2019” is organized under regulations by Council of International Organization of Folk Festivals (CIOFF). We will secure the accommodation, catering (3 times per day) and local transport for the international groups. The travel expenses to/from Latvia shall be covered by participants.
